FROM US
A gym instructor will always be present during opening times at VIVA. We will act to ensure the gym is used in a responsible way for the safety of you and other gym members. We will also be on hand to help with teaching proper exercise technique if required. We will provide every VIVA member with a gym induction covering safe use of cardiovascular and resistance equipment. Every reasonable effort will be made to make sure that our equipment and facilities are in a safe condition for you to use and enjoy.
FROM YOU
You wish to participate in physical activity that may include aerobic exercise, resistance exercises and flexibility exercises. You realise participation in these activities has a risk of injury and possibly death. You confirm you are participating voluntarily.
While you will be provided with a gym induction to cover safe use of cardiovascular and resistance equipment, following this, you will be responsible for your own exercise selection and completion while at VIVA. You should ask a VIVA member of staff if there is any equipment which you are unsure how to use. You should not exercise beyond your own abilities. You should follow gym etiquette of wiping down equipment after use, putting equipment back in the appropriate place after use and using the gym in a considerate way for other VIVA members. You should let us know immediately if you feel ill when at VIVA and there will be a person available who is first-aid trained.
